Bring on the summer!

Hello everyone…

I just wanted to give you an update on the river. The river has cleared up nicely even though we have had a lot of rain this month. The fishing has been fairly good all spring with the stonefly and salmon fly nymphs and san juan worms. Now that the drys are coming off the fishing is great. Salmon and stone fly drys are working great and the now that the BWO, green drakes and large sedge Caddis are also coming off it makes for an exciting day. All in all its been a great year so far and i don't see it slowing down any time soon.

have a great summer and hopefully you can come down for a day or a week……

2019 Season

Well here we are, May 2019. The winter was wonderful. Skiing, snow shoeing, traveling and making a few upgrades around the Lodge to get ready for the upcomming season kept me as busy as I needed to be. As fun as it was I am ready to show you what the Crowsnest has to offer.

We are now open for the season and things are shaping up great. This year looks to be as good as 2018 and the guests that have stayed here already have loved it! The river is fishing great right now however the snow melt and run off will raise the water levels soon and make things a bit murky but that won’t last too long and there are several great lakes in the area to fish as well. Hiking on the lower trails is great however some of the upper trails are still in snow but that will all melt soon.

I’m looking forward to this season, it’s always great to have the opportunity to meet and chat with people from so many different cultures and countries.

I want to wish you all a great summer and I hope I get to meet many of you this year on your adventures.

Safe travels

Larry

2019 season opening soon

Hello Everyone

2018 was our first year of operation and was a tremendous success. We had over 70 nights booked by 64 different people from 7 different countries! We also achived “superhost” status with Airbnb from all our 5 star reviews, thank you everybody who stayed with us in 2018 and i hope to see you again in 2019.

We closed for the season on Sept. 30 and good thing we did as it snowed 18” on October 2 and it took 2 days to plow the road! Amazingly it really hasn’t snowed much since but we now have access to a Bobcat with a 8 foot blade, so getting in and out in won’t be an issue in 2019.

We hope to open for the 2019 season on May 1 and hope to be open year round in the future (aside from days that I have booked off for large groups or personal trips) The amount of snow we get will also regulate when we can be open, due to the length and grade of our road. We can’t wait to meet our new guests this year and of course see our freinds we made in 2018.

Play safe and tight lines
